Since the world is due to end in December 2012, we thought we'd get in there early and give Violated one last hurrah before the ubiquitous shadow of global apocolypse covers us all.

So the Violated Grinner returns, asking anybody who has a short film they'd like to show to get in touch, download a form and send one in.

This year they'll be more Live Music from a couple of fantastic local bands, the screening of the very best films the country has to offer in two 45 minute sections and The Creative Talent Market. This alteration on last years successful concept encourages all creative arts from all walk of life to get involved.

Violated Short Film Festival will be comprised of THREE distinct event sections:

THE SHORT FILMS SCREENING
Our Screening will this year be an hour an half in two parts, allowing us to showcase even more work from young and independent filmmakers.
At Violated Short Film Festival we're all about freedom of expression through the celebrated format of film (or, more likely, Mini DV or .mov), so we've applied no criteria or restrictions on length, genre or content. Naturally we will be short listing for the festival and only have space for so many, but will only be rejecting films based on their content if we feel it is 'too much' (e.g. pro-Baby Seal Clubbing, pro-Daily Mail, Gratuitous Alien Sex and Baby Seals Clubbing - we're against under age drinking.)
All selected films will have been viewed prior to the screening and will be given an advisory OTT-Rating. A programme will be available on the day with a running order of all the films with brief a synopsis. We encourage all entrants to push the limits of conventional filmmaking though narrative, style, content and effects. We look forward to your previewing your entries!
Deadline for submissions is Friday 6th April 2012.

There is an entrance fee of £1 payable on the door to visitors to the Festival. No charge for Submissions or Stalls.

LIVE BANDS
Whats a festival without music? The evenings non-cinematogrpahic entertainment will be provided by two local bands and/or musicians and a DJ to top the evening off. These guys are also unsigned, so they will also be promoting their work as part of our Creative Talent Market.

CREATIVE TALENT MARKET
Around the main screen will be a selection of stalls allowing anybody that has something to promote, raise awareness for or sell, to do just that. We'd like to see everyone from painters and photographers to designers and musicians are getting involved.
These stalls are free to use, but places are limited – so if you want one, get in touch fast!

We're currently looking for Vendors, Bands and, of course, Film Submissions to fill the Event. Details are all over this page, but if you need to contact us, please do so on our Home Page.
